Essie Buckman is a womenswear designer, creative director, and fashion illustrator based in New York. Her work spans performancewear innovation, editorial design, and subculture-informed tailoring.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins (BA Fashion Design with Marketing), Essie began her career interning with Marc Jacobs and Telfar, later designing at Nike (designing the acclaimed Phoenix Fleece capsule), and holding senior roles at Calvin Klein and Under Armour.
She is the founder of Fortie, a London-born label known for its fierce silhouettes, uncompromising storytelling and technical elegance.
As an illustrator, her work has been published in Essence, blending fashion imagery with cultural commentary and form study.
Essie is currently open to collaborations, freelance commissions, and select consulting projects.
